Who We Are Not
- SCCA is not a homeschool.
- SCCA is not a "work at your own pace" or independent study institution.
- SCCA is not a credit recovery or alternative education solution.

Attendance
SCCA is held to the same attendance standards as your local brick and mortar public schools.
Required Instructional Hours:
Kindergarten- 20 hours per week
Grades 1-8 - 25 hours per week
Grades 9-12 - 30 hours per week

Technology
South Carolina Connections Academy families are responsible for providing their own computer and internet service.
SCCA does not recommend that use of mobile devices as they may not be fully compatible with our curriculum platforms.
While SCCA does supply computers for a very limited number of families, based on financial need, these items are not guaranteed.
Lack of access to technology or the internet is not a valid excuse for student absences.

State Testing
Per the South Carolina Department of Education, all students are required to participate in testing, which must be completed in-person. As much as we would like to provide other options, we do not have the flexibility as a public school.
During the enrollment process, you will be asked to agree to the conditions of enrollment. This statement is included in those conditions: "I acknowledge that as a public school, my student must attend all mandatory state testing and could be subject to withdrawal if my student does not attend."
